Em 2017, fui convidado pela Aline Valli, Flávia Castanheira e Julia Masagão para elaborar um cartaz pop-up de um castelo, que integraria um material didático para crianças entre 3 e 5 anos de idade. O tema se baseava em contos de fada, e a ideia era que houvesse, ao redor e dentro do castelo, cenas de histórias que as crianças descobririam ao explorar o cartaz. Fizemos diversos estudos de volumetria com maquetes e croquis antes de chegar ao modelo final, que tem desenhos feitos à lápis e cor digital.
A curiosidade da história e motivo deste trabalho estar sendo publicado tão depois, é que nunca vimos o material pronto. E como o projeto foi descontinuado, foi só em 2024, 7 anos depois, que, com ajuda do Estevão, editor de literatura da FTD, é que obtivemos finalmente uma cópia. Abaixo algumas das ilustrações, fotos das maquetes e do material final.

In 2017, Aline Valli, Flávia Castanheira and Julia Masagão invited me to join them in designing a pop-up castle to go with educational material focused on kids from 3 to 5 years old. The theme was fairy tales, and the idea was to have scattered, inside and around the castle, hidden scenes of well known tales for the kids to find. Several volumetric studies were made to get to this final set up, which has pencil drawn images digitally colored.
The curious part of this story and the reason only now, 7 years after the job was completed, I’m publishing this project here, is that we never saw the final material because it was discontinued. Only in 2024, with the help of Estevão, editor at FTD, we finally obtained a copy, which you can see in the pictures below, alongside some drawings and mock-ups.
