Depois de anos em crise com a aquarela, por conta da ansiedade que meu causava ao tentar controlar as manchas e a ordem das cores e camadas, percebi no guache a possibilidades de trabalhar com a tinta mais opaca, cobrindo e retrabalhando áreas quando necessário. Tem sido libertador. Quanto ao tema, queria algo calmo e bucólico, e também tinha entrado para um clube do livro e adoro bicicleta, está tudo aí.

After years struggling to get watercolor, fighting the anxiety it causes me when trying to control the flow and layers of colors, I found in gouache the possibility of using a more opaque medium, making it easier to find the effects I want. It has been truly revealing. Regarding the scene, I wanted something bucolic and peaceful that reminded me of a book club, and maybe a bike.
